‘Matte Iru’ or ‘Waiting’ lino print. 待つこと, matte iru is Japanese for ‘Waiting.'  Bleak events beyond control imposes a period of reflection, and hence the muse awaits her fate. Pattern inspired by deep ocean forms is a metaphor for unwavering nature of life. The gold leaf detail symbolises hope admist the chaos. This piece uses traditional linocut technique and is handprinted on a press.
